At baptism, parents take a solemnly commitment to raise their child in the faith through their personal witness, prayer, and consistent practice of faith, supported but not replaced by parish programs.

Elementary Faith Formation seeks to reinforce this commitment for children to establish a loving relationship with God. Through learning about the sacraments, church belief, and living with Jesus through the liturgical calendar, our goal is to lay the foundations of a family life centered around the love of Christ. This program will also prepare those children to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion as well as bring the teachings of the Church back into the home to help build a faith that goes beyond the church building and can be applied to living our faith out in the world.

Sacramental Preparation: Mary, Star of the Sea prepares children to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion in a two-year process in accordance with guidelines set forth by Diocese of San Diego. During this time your child will learn about the Sacraments of Holy Communion and Reconciliation as well as the graces we receive from regularly going to Reconciliation and receiving Jesus in the Eucharist. We encourage you to make these sacraments a normal part of your family life by going to Reconciliation, Mass and receiving the Eucharist regularly so that your children can see how you experience these encounters with God.

En el bautismo, los padres se comprometen solemnemente a criar a sus hijos en la fe mediante su testimonio personal, la oración y la práctica constante de la fe, apoyada, pero no reemplazada, por los programas parroquiales.

La Formación en la Fe en la Primaria busca reforzar este compromiso para que los niños establezcan una relación amorosa con Dios. A través del aprendizaje de los sacramentos, las creencias de la Iglesia y la convivencia con Jesús a través del calendario litúrgico, nuestro objetivo es sentar las bases de una vida familiar centrada en el amor de Cristo. Este programa también preparará a los niños para recibir el Sacramento de la Sagrada Comunión y traerá las enseñanzas de la Iglesia al hogar para ayudar a construir una fe que trascienda el templo y pueda aplicarse al vivir nuestra fe en el mundo.

 Preparación Sacramental: María, Estrella del Mar prepara a los niños para recibir el Sacramento de la Sagrada Comunión en un proceso de dos años de acuerdo con las pautas establecidas por la Diócesis de San Diego. Durante este tiempo, su hijo aprenderá sobre los Sacramentos de la Sagrada Comunión y la Reconciliación, así como las gracias que recibimos al ir regularmente a la Reconciliación y recibir a Jesús en la Eucaristía. Los animamos a hacer de estos sacramentos una parte normal de su vida familiar yendo a la Reconciliación, a Misa y recibiendo la Eucaristía regularmente para que sus hijos puedan ver cómo experimentan estos encuentros con Dios.
